So for the past month or so I have been considering starting a journal, something I can carry with me everywhere and write in. I haven't started yet because I'm not really sure of how well I'll keep that up. I figure I should keep track of what I eat, where I go what reactions I have and when... keep track of things like headaches and indigestion that could be related to allergies or could simply be stress.... it's alot but keeping track of it would probably help when it comes to describing what's going on with my health.
I can with out doubt relate the facts of what happened on 01-17-09 but otherwise it's all kind of a blur (and not the good kind of blur either.) yes I have headaches... no not every day... but on a regular basis... you know what? I'm addicted to caffiene. Acid reflux issues frequently? yes, but I was taking large doses of Ibuprofen for the pain in my back, and I was taking it at bedtime. Oh that pain in my back? still don't know what it is for sure, Doc Mike said it is Plurisy, Dr. A. says it's "more likely muscle pain" and Dr. S. sent me for x-rays.... haven't heard back from her yet. Hives? yes occasionally but usually at work, where there is dust of many various and unknown origins.
so keeping track of it all should make sense... I just doubt my stick-to-it-iveness

had to explain bruising to my Ob/Gyn this morning.... "what's this bruising?" "his name is (intentionally left blank)" "He's a little rough" "only in the ways I want him to be" "well that's the best way"

She dropped it at that point we discussed many other things.... still I hadn't realized I had a handful of finger shaped bruises on my breast till now...

Birthday Plans!

The first birthday things are underway I'm having dinner with the family tonight and a couple others here at home in Elgin.
For everyone else, I will be in Wheeling at Capricon Friday night through Sunday afternoon, with a brief showing on Thursday night and possibly Wednesday night. please contact me directly and let me know if you want to have dinner with me this weekend you need to let me know as soon as possible.... there's only so much dinner to be had in one weekend.
Also, if dinner is still your plan but this weekend is out, I will be attending game at COD on fourth weekend, and available on the 1st for whatever.
Ok, so for those of you who answered with the drinking, find me at Capricon... or call me.
Finally there are two more organized plans...

So I am effectively celebrating my birthday for almost three weeks... I'm ok with that.

finally made a dr. appt yesterday and was able to get in this morning.
Why do I say finally? Well because on January 17th I woke up with a swollen tongue, evidence of bleeding and drooling on my pillow case and pj's(funny I often don't wear them but did that night) and went immediately to an urgent care clinic.
I was prescribed prednisone and amoxicillin and told to "take your vitamins!" vitamin c and a daily multi
I knew I needed to make an appt. with an actual primary care dr. but put it off... I do that, put things off... all the time.
Yesterday I woke up and took some tylenol for my headache at 630 ish and then woke up and puked my guts out at 8ish.... I went back to bed trying to recover for leaving for work at 1pm.... I wasn't recovered.. I felt like crap hadn't been able to convince myself to eat more than a piece of toast and had only had water and tea to drink. so I called to make a dr. appt... there was a student there, he wants to do family practice so I'm glad to say he did well... not only did we talk about al the stuff going on but Dr. Diana called me on the fact that I haven't had a full exam in .... 4 years... bad me.... so all kinds of blood, allergy tests, my first mammogram, and a scheduled physical... that I just realized conflicts with my a+ cert class... I'll have to change that.... oh and a prescription for an epi pen... in case the swollen tongue thing is worse next time...
so a productive and long morning...now off to work!

starting the 19th
Friday, got off early from work(yay paid time off reward system!)
Went to really awesome party....drank alot ... came up with new drink "the slutty boytoy" ..... licked booze off peoples parts... went home with some one ... got a ticket for parking on a snow route (so did everyone parked behind me)..... arrived home as my mother was serving my dad breakfast so he could go to work Saturday morning.... slept hard.

I live with this strange mindset that if I haven'tslept yet it is still the day I got up on.... but I'm not consistant with it.....
and will pick on others for doing the same thing.

Saturday, woke up entirely to late .... gathered things for requiem ... got underway ..... forgot wallet (not that it had a lot in it) .... misplaced glove, found glove.... went to game... went to hookah..... went home.... misplaced phone.

I managed to misplace things in places that I would look multiple times and not find them...
then after I announced I lost them to people I would find them ... very annoying.

Sunday, slept in, stayed home, relaxed.

Monday, Tuesday, worked.

Wednesday day off for christmas eve,
shopping with mom, lent my car to my sister so that we could have mom's van at the house if we needed it, left late for my aunt's,left my car for my brother in law(David) to pick up my brother(Carl) from work, David got a flat... a hole was punched in my tire's side wall.... I find out that my donut is the size of a cereal bowl. Great evening is had including tasting expensive brandy.

Thursday... christmas for me is about bing in my pjs al day, eating way too much candy and spending time with my family.... apparently spending time with my family is better when my sister her two kids and her husband are somewhere else.. which they were.

Friday early work.... busy day .... hit pothole on way home blew up donut, no actually put pie shaped dent in donut rim.... got towed home, it was payday so I had money to pay for it.

Saturday shopping with Kitty, China and Desi...
chocolate lounge.... bras for China(poor kid is definately my girl) .... we all make everyone else suffer from our coffee and chocolate euphoria.... China goes to hang out with friends, we pick up Jeanne... thrift shop jeans shopping... score some good looking boots... find Lewis at the thrift store... vague plans made for the near future... Jeanne drops Kitty and I off at Kitty's we get Jim... go deal with my tire.. i find out my tires are expensive.... we eat at chili's.... run around more with Kitty... Jim has allergies... we go back to Jim and Kitty's to smoke the hookah... drink some cheap but yummy spumanti(it's like soda pop).. go home sleep alot.

Sunday grocery shopping with Mom and Jeanne is dangerous.... especially when I'm the one with the money.

I suppose the highlights are different depending on who I talk to.... but it has been a busy, expensive week+ and I feel pretty good about it despite the low points.

I feel like I exposed far to many of them in the wee hours of Saturday morning to one person in particular.... but what can I do?
I have been thinking that I should find a good therapist... do you have a good one?

if you are looking for a job CDW is hiring for multiple positions. I feel that I should point out that for most positions they are going to end up hiring from within but i made it through the process in August when they hired 8 of us from 300 applications for one position. CDW has been a great place to work for many years.... lets all hope it stays that way. If you decide to apply let me know, I get a big bonus if they hire you, and keep you. I'll take you out to dinner, and use the rest as a car payment.

If you are in the Cam and you have a character on the Chicago Requiem VSS you need to vote... seriously.

If you want to do something with me over the next few weeks now is the time to let me know ... I have some open time but it will disappear quickly.

Received this from my aunt today...

Hello to everyone. As you probably know by now, Grandma Hannen has been struggling lately with dementia and a broken arm. She is becoming more frail all the time. her activities are mostly getting up to eat and use the bathroom and then taking another nap. I noticed when I was there that she enjoyed getting a card from one of her grandchildren0 thank you Desiree). I want to suggest that one thing we can all do is send her cards every so often. then she would know we are all thinking about her, because she would see the cards over and over again and since she doesn't remember, she'll enjoy them again and again. What do you think. can you send a note or card? Her address is {my granma's info}

Also Aunt Jeanette is in a special care unit at Covenant Village because she became ill and is trying to recuperate.

She's slowly gaining strength. She would love cards too.I think if you sent them to her old address they would get to her.That's {my aunt's info} . Thanks everyone.

So I have managed to have really good friday nights for several weeks in a row now and that totally helps with my perspective on having a life out side of work. This friday I have no official plans. I have to drive past Furfest to get home though..... so what the heck can I do at furfest on friday night? I would be there after 930 but most likely before 1130(I get off work 11ish which means as quickly as we can on Friday)
I need to go home sleep and bring China out for Saturday so I don't know how late I'll stay.
So.... I'm going to screen the comments on this.... what do you think I should be doing on Friday night?

windycon gets results

I had a really good time at windycon.
I went into it concerned about my ability to have fun inspite of my mood of late. I came out with the majority of that mood shed.
Friends I love met other friends I love and they now love each other. Yay!
I had a jolly good time, saw lots of people who make me feel warm and cuddly, and felt warm and cuddled.
I only had one run in with someone who made me feel uncomfortable and when I told him "please don't" he took his hands off of me and I managed to dodge him for the rest of the night. as well as managing to bitch about him to friends.

There are a few things that didn't go as I would have liked....
I didn't spend as much time with Barfleet as i wanted.... missed some time with good friends there.
I lost some one as I walked into barfleet and never found him again, I have a handful of possible reasons for this but I would like to know what happened... I'll call him later and find out.
I didn't get much sleep.... I suppose I should get used to this but really I need it more these days.... work takes it out of me I need to make sure I put it back in. I got three hours of nap yesterday followed by 9 overnight.... I think I'm good now.

So.... what's the next convention you're going to? should I go? why?

My mom is on facebook (and just called me from D.C. where she and my dad are on their anniversary vacation, I swear she felt me type her name or something) so I need people to behave in their interaction with me.

Otherwise life is as it is... this weekend I'm juggling work and windycon on Friday.... windycon and wanting to see certain people at game in Dekalb Saturday ... and Windycon and my parents getting home sunday as well as something like an invite to maybe there will be a board game day sometime this weekend.... confused? me too.
